JAHII
CARSON
COMMITS TO ASU
- Mesa
point guard Jahii Carson, the top boys basketball prospect in the senior
class, has verbally committed to Arizona State, Mesa coach Shane Burcar
said.
The 5-foot-10 senior made the decision on an unofficial campus visit
Saturday afternoon.
Carson was being pursued by Arizona, North Carolina, UCLA, Marquette and
St. John's, among others.
Carson averaged 23.3 points and 5.5 assists last year for the Jackrabbits,
leading them to the No. 1 seed heading into the 5A-I state tournament.
He had previously been committed to Oregon State, but re-opened his
recruitment after seeing his stock rise.
